The Venice Branch Library is a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. We provide the Venice community with free and easy access to books, movies, music, information, and technology in a variety of formats that enrich, educate, and empower every individual in our diverse community.
How are you adapting? We have initiated a new, hybrid service model to adapt to the situation while continuing to serve our communities. We have expanded our digital media collections to empower our patrons to access our resources in a variety of formats from the safety of their homes. Library-To-Go is our city-wide effort to make our physical collections accessible through a contactless and safe curbside pickup model. All of our programming is now offered online via Zoom. We are offering weekly storytimes and movement programs for children, programs for teens as well as a monthly book club and other special events for adults in a variety of languages.
How are you helping support the community? We prioritize the health and safety of our community and adapt to new service models to continue to provide our community with access to our resources, programs and services during this pandemic. Ask for the community: We invite our community to contribute materials that document life during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to our Safe At Home Archive at lapl.org/safer-archive. Submissions will be curated and made available in a digital collection accessible through our online special collections portal. If your children need homework help, our Student Zone Team and Tutor.com service are here to assist you. You can borrow books, newspapers, magazines, movies, TV series, music tracks, and albums electronically via the library platforms. If you would like to research or learn something new, our online databases and resources are available to you at www.lapl.org. If you missed some of our wonderful programs, you can watch the archived videos on the library’s Youtube channel, such as a four-part teen novel program on different aspects of writing and publishing in conjunction with NaNoWriMo.
