One of the things that makes Venice so special are our community organizations. In particular, our local booster clubs do an amazing job supporting schools. Their generous support and hours of service ensures that our kids have the resources they need and the best education possible.

The Gondolier Boosters is the booster club for Venice High School. Since 1971, they’ve been supporting Venice High’s academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities and organizations. The Gondolier Boosters sell a Venice Saver card that grants discounts at local businesses, they run the annual Gondo Golf Classic, and they put on an Arts and Collectibles Market every second Saturday of the month.

The Pacific Area Boosters sponsor the LAPD Pacific Area Cadet and Junior Cadet Programs. These programs are designed to teach youth many different skills, including leadership, academic success, teamwork, and discipline. These programs make an enormous difference in the lives of students, regardless of the career they choose. In addition, the Pacific Boosters support LAPD Officers and police stations in the LAPD’s Pacific Area.

The Friends of Coeur D’Alene support Coeur D’Alene Avenue School through many different events and fundraisers. They host a series of auctions, where the winning bids can receive holiday gift baskets, Teacher Time outings, and VIP parking spaces. The Friends are responsible for funding teacher and library aides, computer, PE, and gardening activities, and many more programs at CDA.

At Walgrove Elementary, the Friends of Walgrove host a Holiday Boutique, a Spelling Bee, and Walgroovie parties, along with many community partnerships with local businesses. Their fundraising plays a critical role in the Walgrove experience, including the musical theater program, the school yearbook, and campus beautification.

Finally, Westminster Elementary’s Friends of Westminster works for the school’s outstanding technology education. The Friends contribute to Westminster’s Planet Bravo technology curriculum, which is taught in a special STEM lab. In addition, they fund music, yoga, and mosaic arts.

Venice has always been a special place, but it’s incredible to see how the community is coming together for the next generation. Let’s work together for the future of Venice!
