At the Venice Chamber of Commerce, our Chamber in Action Committee takes a day at the beach seriously! Earlier this year, we joined forces with Future Cleaning, professional cleaning company and VCC member, to do a cleanup day at the Venice Pier. Future Cleaning sponsored the event and provided all of the supplies, and members brought their friends to help clean up our beautiful beach.
This activity was in collaboration with Peter Ruiz, from the Venice Pier Project. Check the website, https://venicepierproject.com/ for the next scheduled clean-up event.
We used our diverse and hardworking volunteers in all types of positions, including handing out supplies, managing the check-in table, collecting and throwing away full trashbags, and of course, cleaning up the beach! The group started at 9:00AM, and we worked for a full day of fun, leadership, and environmental action!

This event is a part of the Chamber in Action Committee’s “random acts of kindness” initiative in which the committee participates in community efforts and happenings throughout the year to help positively impact local non-profits and their efforts. Events include food drives, meal serving, clean-ups, and more! The random acts of kindness also include assisting non-profits in finding resources, like volunteers and supplies, for events they are planning.
Do you know of a local non-profit that would like the Chamber in Action committee’s support? Please email info@venicechamber.net for more information and to submit the event.

The Venice Pier Project has a main objective to act as guardian and watchdog for the Venice Fishing Pier in Venice Beach, CA. Its primary concerns include the integrity of the Pier itself and the continued maintenance of the Pier’s structure, the quality of surrounding waters and bottom conditions, and the prevention of commercial inroads and commercial interests of any kind on the Pier.
About the Chamber in Action Committee
The Chamber in Action Committee brings chamber members and the community together to work on improving our business and community. This committee focuses on community service and community improvement. Using an application process, the committee selects a local non-profit group, Venice business or public area in need of improvement and organizes Chamber members and volunteers to create positive change.
Recent projects include the LAPD Pacific Division lobby renovation, the Venice Gondola Project, and the POW-MIA mural restoration. This committee recently adopted the Venice Carousel Project and is involved with various garden improvement and beach clean-up efforts.Email inquiries for submitting a project application to info@venicechamber.net.
